Royal Canberra Show

On Thursday 27th of February, David and I went to Davids office. Dad has to do work until 12pm. We went to Melbourne Airport to check in our bags and our swag. We went though security. We went to Qantas Club to have lunch. I had wrap with cheese. We went to watch planes for while. We went to our gate to get on Qantas plane to Canberra. We got off the plane. We got our bags and our swag. We hire a car to the Supermarket near the show. We went in the show to check in. We helped Erica to do work like feed her cattle dinner. We set up the tent and went out for dinner.
On Friday 28th of February, I helped Erica walk Andie outside, feed her cattle breakfast wash and blow dry her getting her ready for the show. The show started. Emily Peck had to walk Andie around the show ring. We had lunch.

On Saturday 29th of February, We helped Erica walk Andie outside to had her breakfast and getting ready for the show again. Erica and I walked Andie around the show ring 3 times. We put Andie to bed. We had a parade of cattle because Erica and I won.

On Sunday 30th, of February, We helped Erica walk Andie outside to had her breakfast and getting ready for last show. Erica and I led Andie around the show ring. Andie and I won. We helped Erica packed up. We went back to the airport to check in our bags and our swag. We went though security. We went to Qantas Club to have dinner. We went to our gate to get on the Qantas plane to Melbourne.

Warragul Show

On Friday 6th of March, We went to Davids office until 1pm. We drove to Warragul Show and waited for Erica from Glenstrae highlands. I helped Erica unload her trailer. We set up the tent close to cattle. We helped Erica to do work with her cattle. We went out for dinner at the pub in Warragul. I have a pizza with salami. We went back and watched the fireworks at 9:30pm.

On Saturday I got up at 6am to get ready for work with Erica with her cattle. I sang We Will Rock You to Andie Skye. I led Andie Skye into the show ring I had to hold Andies head up and I led her around I had to do 4 rounds with Andie. I won ribbons in 4 rounds. Aimi and Bob came and watched me. We helped Erica packed up the tralier then we drove home. We saw High Capacity Metro trains on the way home at the Pakenham East depot and more cows. I got home and saw Mum and Ella and Charlie.

 

Stud Beef Handlers Camp

On Thursday 16th of January, We got to camp at 2pm and waited for Erica from Glenstrae to come with her highland cattle. We helped Erica unload things and her cattle and I helped Erica to do work with Andie Skye. There were 2 other highland cattle at the camp. Nevis from Glenstrae and Seamus from Yatarna. We had afternoon tea. I did more work with Andie Skye. I tried sing baby shark song on the scavenger hunt, but I like singing We Will Rock You better. We hung out with highland cattle then had dinner. We fed Andie dinner and get her water.

On Friday 17th of January, We fed Andie Skye breakfast and got her water. We hung out with the highland cattle and I sang We Will Rock You to Andie Skye. Erica and I took Andie Skye outside because we had to clean their beds. Erica and I gave Andie Skye a wash and a blow dry. We had morning tea then Erica and I led Andie Skye in the show ring. I learned how to put ear tag in the cows’ ears. After lunch Jess Parker did a talk on products for grooming and we also heard what makes good show cattle. After afternoon tea we walked cattle and fed and watered them. We did Junior Judging and had dinner. Then we hung out with Andie Skye, Nevis and Seamus.

 

 

On Saturday 18th of January, We fed Andie Skye breakfast and got her water. We had breakfast and hung out with Andie, Nevis and Seamus. Erica and I led Andie Skye into the show ring. I felt happy leading Andie Skye and got to use my new halter. We did Stud Beef Victoria Challenge then had lunch. After lunch, Erica and I led Andie Skye into the show ring. I felt better leading Andie Skye, and keeping her head up. The judge was very helpful and I got a ribbon. After showing Andie Skye I gave her some lucerne cubes as a treat and got her some water. We had dinner and I danced to We Will Rock You by Queen.

On Sunday 19th of January, we fed Andie Skye breakfast and got her water and helped Erica pack up.

I had a great time and handler’s camp and learn a lot about looking after cattle and how to lead them in the show ring. I enjoyed spending 3 days with the highland cattle Andie Skye, Nevis and Seamus. Thank you to Sue Boland, all the helpers and Stud Beef Victoria for putting on the camp. Thank you also to Erica Smith from Glenstrae for bringing Andie Skye and helping me learn to look after and show her. I’m looking forward to working with Andie Skye again and showing her at the Royal Canberra Show.

Bendigo Show and The Big Goose

On Thursday afternoon, Mum, I and Charlie drove to the house in the North Bendigo. We had dinner at the house. Mum cooked Macaroni and Cheese for me. We relaxed untill 10pm.

On Friday, Mum had to interview David between 7:30 and 8am. So I hung out and relaxed.
At 8:30 we left to get to the show to help Peter and Erica to do farming jobs like brushing highland cattle and blow drying the cattles bodies. There were lots of highland cattle.
In the show I got to lead Ava the heifer, Brenton’s cow and Peter’s black baby bull. The black bull was mooing, I told him to be quiet but he didn’t listen. I bought the smiths chip showbag.

David arrived at 5 o’clock and we had dinner at the show – just us boys! I had sausages or hamburgers – I can’t remember!!!

On Saturday morning, Dad and I went to the show to help Peter and Erica to get the cattle ready for the show. I led Peter’s black bull, he was mooing again. I also got Ella a highland cow soft toy!
I saw Farmer Darryl at the show they were playing Hammer to Fall by Queen in where Farmer Darryl was. That was great!

My famliy and I had dinner out across the road from the show with the breeders. I had pasta with cheese. it was tasty i will be having that again.
On Sunday we drove home almost in time for Brooke, We went to The Big Goose on the way I spotted 1 highland cow when we exit Mornington Tyyab Road We had to pull over to have a look and took photos. Brooke said someone bought 1 highland cow. I would like them to buy more highland cattle.

We got to The Big Goose, We saw Mini Dexter cows at the front. We saw baby cows, Highland cows, Friesian cows. We fed highland cows. We had lunch there. I had hotdog with cheese. We hungout there until 3:50. We went to their driveway to see 1 highland cow close to the fence. We watched the trains at Kananook station. We went to Mordialloc for burgers on the way home.
